The Woman at First Light

When I created First Light, I knew it could not exist only as a fragrance. 

Scent is invisible, but the story behind it needed a form - something that could be seen as well as felt. That is how the painting was born.

The limited print of artwork that accompanies Rabia Oxford's First Light - Scared Blend No.1 is a portrait of a woman in transition. Not the woman she once was, and not yet the woman she will become. 

She stands in the quiet space between endings and beginnings.

Her profile faces forward, toward the light. The warm tones of amber, gold, and soft earth echo the resinous heart of the fragrance itself - a reflection of warmth, grounding, and sacred stillness.

There is a shadow - fragments of darker strokes move through the piece like memories, experiences, or storms that have passed through her. They are not erased. Instead, they become part of her story - textured, layered, and deeply human.

This painting is not about perfection, it is about becoming.

Just as First Light captures the moment the world shifts from darkness into dawn, the woman in the artwork represents the quiet power of rebirth. A woman who has endured, softened, and found herself again in the stillness after everything has changed.

For me, the fragrance and the painting are inseparable. One is scent and the other is form.
